Congratulations to Lauren Perez of NAVSEA, Dahlgren Division, recipient of a 2021 STEM Hero Award!
Ms. Lauren Perez has distinguished herself as a superb leader and highly respected scientist at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division. As the Test and Evaluation Lead for the Office of Naval Research’s High-power Joint Electromagnetic Non-Kinetic Strike (HIJENKS) project, she’s a critical asset in this high-profile, multi-agency program as it seems to demonstrate and integrate this novel high-power microwave electronic attack capability with an airborne platform.
Thriving in challenging situations, Ms. Perez not only quickly learned the technical intricacies of her role, but also keenly grasped the many independent testing aspects within the HIJENKS program and united the cross-country engineering teams into a cohesive, efficient testing and evaluation organization.
Laurent will be featured at “Commitment to Country,” the professional awards showcase scheduled for Wednesday, October 20th, 2021, during week 2 of the GMIS Conference.
