Congratulations Liliana Alvarado-Ortiz of the National Reconnaissance Office, winner of a GMiS 2021 STEM Military and Civilian Hero Award!
Ms. Liliana Alvarado-Ortiz joined the National Reconnaissance Office in the Fall of 2020, but in just under a year at the Survivability Assurance Office, she’s not only exceeded expectations but blown them away. Her superiors cite her incredible combination of expert technical leadership prowess, team-building focus, and program management realism as qualities that have made her a key leader in the system program office.
In a very short time, Ms. Alvarado-Ortiz rose to Deputy Program Manager for a technically demanding software development program charged with delivering space situational awareness and decision support capabilities critical to the nation’s space defense. Her professional achievements and drive for involvement in the NRO community have entrenched her as a rising leader in the NRO’s mission to design, build, launch and maintain America’s intelligence satellites to protect our nation and its citizens.
Liliana Alvarado-Ortiz and the other 8 STEM Heroes will be featured at the National Defense Awards on Wednesday, October 20th, 2021, during week 2 of the GMIS Conference.
