Ivan Diaz
Ivan Diaz’s Walt Disney Company career has spanned 15 years. He has held leadership responsibilities at the Walt Disney World® Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland® Park, Walt Disney Imagineering, and the Disneyland® Resort in the field of Design and Engineering. He currently serves as Director, FOS Training, Quality Assurance, and FOS Systems and Processes, where he is leading a startup-like organization within the broader Facilities and Operations Services organization. In his previous role, Ivan served as Director of Parks Development and Integration where he helped guide the design and development of theme parks and attractions across the world. In the eleven years before that, Ivan served in a variety of roles, where he had responsibilities for life/safety systems, designing ride control systems and transportation engineering. Ivan relocated to Hong Kong to be a part of the Hong Kong Disneyland® Park grand opening team, where he mentored local engineering and maintenance Cast Members on The Walt Disney Company safety standards and processes. He is the co-author of a patent for a system that is used at all Walt Disney Parks and Resorts to ensure compliance for attraction system safety. In the community, Ivan is a STEM advocate and encourages elementary and middle school students to study STEM fields through the Viva Technology Program that is hosted by Great Minds in STEM. Working with Walt Disney World® Resort Corporate Citizenship, Ivan is the Executive Champion leading a site-wide strategic approach for engagement with local STEM initiatives.
Ivan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Florida State University and is a registered professional engineer in the state of Florida. To balance his technical education with the business world, he achieved a Master of Business Administration degree from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College, where, Ivan regularly lectures in Executive MBA courses. He enjoys spending time with family, working on home improvement projects, serving as a mentor to students, and being a career coach.
