San Diego Selected to Host the 2025 GMiS Conference

Great Minds in STEM is proud to announce that the GMiS Conference will be returning to Southern California in 2025! The Board of Directors has selected San Diego to be the host city for the 37th annual conference, to be held October 2-4, 2025 at the San Diego Hilton Bayfront Hotel.

SAVE THE DATE: 2025 GMiS Conference
October 2-4, 2025 • San Diego, CA

The massive Hilton Bayfront Hotel will serve as the Host Hotel for 2025, and most of the sessions and awards events will take place there as well, including the HENAAC Awards Show. The Career and Graduate School fair will be held at the San Diego Convention Center on Saturday, October 4th – conveniently located directly adjacent to the Hilton Bayfront Hotel and across the street from the Gaslamp Quarter and PetCo Park.

“Downtown San Diego is the ideal location for our annual conference,” said Peter Mellado, GMiS’s new Executive Director. “It’s a world-renowned convention city and the quality of its facilities, restaurants, tourist attractions and amenities will serve our sponsors, students and professional attendees well.”

“San Diego and Southern California more broadly have long constituted a vibrant STEM ecosystem critical to our economy and our technology infrastructure,” said Dr. Juan Rivera, Great Minds in STEM’s Chairman of the Board. “There are dozens of world-class universities within a 500-mile radius, many Fortune 500 STEM companies have a large presence in the region, and the military, particularly the Navy, the Marine Corps and the Coast Guard and their many civilian and uniformed commands, have long called San Diego home.”

The GMiS Conference returns to California after the successful 2024 conference in Fort Worth, Texas. We’ll see everyone in San Diego next year!
