Rainia L. Washington
Rainia L. Washington is Vice President, Culture, Diversity and Equal Opportunity Programs for Lockheed Martin Corporation. In this role, Rainia is responsible for the workforce engagement and compliance strategy for the corporation’s 116,000 employees worldwide. Rainia has held a number of Human Resources related positions within Lockheed Martin during her 20-year career with the company.
Most recent, Rainia was the Corporate Director, Performance Management where she was responsible for leading and managing the company’s performance management process, LM Commit. She started this role by initiating a 19 facility Listening Tour to gather feedback regarding the LM Commit process from over 1,000 leaders and employees which led to significant enhancements to the overall process.
Rainia was also the Director and Human Resources Site Lead for the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Marietta Facility in Marietta, GA. She led a team of over 40 Human Resources professionals strategically focused at providing HR consultation and support to program management, employees and union representatives. This position supported over 10,000 employees, both represented and non-represented across seven states. Prior to this position, Rainia was the Director of Human Resources for Lockheed Martin Mission Services, Information Systems & Global Services in Houston, Texas. She was also the Director, Equal Opportunity Programs for the Lockheed Martin enterprise working in Bethesda. In this position, she was responsible for developing and driving strategic equal opportunity programs and initiatives throughout the enterprise.
Rainia has held a variety of Human Resources positions with Lockheed Martin providing experience in human resources management, compensation, talent management, employee relations, staffing, labor relations, diversity and human resources analytics.
Rainia participates on the Cobb County Civil Service Board, Mercer Engineering Advisory Board, Georgia Diversity Council Board of Directors, and University of Pennsylvania Engineering Board. She actively supports and advises several Lockheed Martin Employee Resource Groups. She is actively involved in the community through various mentoring and tutoring programs: Wiley Tutoring Program in Germantown, MD and Big Brother Big Sister Program in Houston, TX.
Rainia received her BS in Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a MBA in Organizational Development from Pennsylvania State University. She is married to Sammie Jr. and they have a daughter, Jazmin and a son, Sammie III.
