GMiS would like to welcome students, professionals, and all attendees to week one of the 2021 virtual conference, sponsored by Lockheed Martin and Shell! In order to maximize your experience, we have compiled a few resources and suggestions for conference participants.
Whether it’s your first virtual conference or your 5th, here is some information to help you get the most out of your time at the virtual GMiS Conference in just 4 easy steps.
We highly recommend students join GMiS Executive Director Bertha Haro for our Conference Welcome Webinar on Oct 11, 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM PDT to hear about the exciting things waiting for you during week 1 of the GMiS Conference. The webinar is accessible via the Conference Portal under Schedule.
For a more social experience to a virtual conference, GMiS now has a Discord server enabled to meet other attendees and GMiS staff during the conference! Discuss your favorite experiences in our general chat, or get more specific with channels dedicated to our Career Fair, Scavenger Hunt, and STEM Coaching Sessions!
We will also be using Discord for notifications during the conference. Get updates and reminders of the various programs and events available. Students and professionals are welcome to join by clicking “Group Chat” on the home screen of the Conference Portal.
